How long does a structured cabling installation take?

A 10 to 25 drop office is typically a one to two day install. A 50 to 100 drop floor runs three to five days. Multi-floor or multi-building projects are scheduled in phases over two to four weeks. Occupied space, after-hours restrictions and pathway construction are the biggest schedule drivers.

    A typical schedule

Day one is pathway and rough-in — pulling cable above ceiling and into walls. Day two is termination, rack build and dressing. Testing and labeling close the job, followed by as-built documentation. On occupied sites we split work into evening or weekend blocks so your operation never stops.

    What causes delays

Ceiling access disputes, missing electrical or rack power, permit and inspection windows, asbestos or fire-stop requirements in older buildings, and change orders added mid-pull. Almost every one of these is caught in a proper pre-install walkthrough — which is why we insist on one before quoting.
